Vimy Ridge
An escarpment on the northern flank of the Arras front in France, captured on 9–12 April 1917 by the four divisions of the Canadian Corps, supported by a creeping barrage. The battle was part of the Battle of Arras, a preliminary attack for the Nivelle Offensive.
