Division
A large military formation, usually 6,000 to 25,000 soldiers, built from several regiments or brigades; several divisions make up a corps. At the start of the war infantry divisions ranged from about 16,000 men in the French and Russian armies to about 18,000 in the British and Austro-Hungarian.
