Stormtroopers
German Stoßtruppen, elite infantry trained to attack in small groups, infiltrate past strongpoints with grenades, light machine guns and flamethrowers, and leave strongpoints to be mopped up later. Their tactics were used at Riga and Caporetto in 1917 and in the spring offensive of 1918.
