Caporetto
The Italian name of the town now called Kobarid in Slovenia, which gave its name to the battle of 24 October to 19 November 1917, the Twelfth Battle of the Isonzo. Austro-Hungarian forces reinforced by German units broke into the Italian line and routed it, demonstrating stormtroopers and infiltration tactics.
