SMS Emden
The German light cruiser that raided Allied shipping in the Indian Ocean in 1914 under Karl von Müller. In about three months she sank or captured some twenty Allied vessels, among them two warships, then was driven aground by HMAS Sydney at the Cocos Islands on 9 November 1914.
