Paris Peace Conference

The diplomatic meetings of 1919 and 1920 at which the victorious Allies set the peace terms for the defeated Central Powers. Dominated by Britain, France, the United States and Italy, it opened on 18 January 1919 and produced five treaties; the losing nations were given no voice in the deliberations.
