Allied Powers
The coalition fighting the Central Powers: chiefly Britain and its empire, France, Russia, Italy (from 1915), Japan and, from 1917, the United States. President Wilson insisted that the United States was an "Associated Power" rather than an Ally, to keep its freedom of action.
