Galicia
A historical region spanning what is now southeastern Poland and western Ukraine, ruled by the Habsburgs from the First Partition of Poland in 1772 until 1918, with Lemberg (Lviv) and Kraków among its cities. Austria-Hungary and Russia fought over it in the First World War.
