Black Hand
The popular name of Unification or Death, a secret society formed in May 1911 by officers of the Serbian army to unite the South Slav lands not ruled by Serbia or Montenegro. Led by Dragutin Dimitrijević, known as Apis, it was involved in the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand in 1914.
