Adrian helmet

The French steel helmet designed by the army supply officer Louis Adrian and introduced in 1915. The first standard helmet of the French Army and the first modern steel helmet, it was created because falling shrapnel from indirect fire caused so many head wounds. More than twenty million were eventually produced.
