Provisional Government
The government of Russia formed on 15 March 1917 after the abdication of Nicholas II, intended to organize elections to a Constituent Assembly. Led first by Prince Georgy Lvov and then by Alexander Kerensky, it shared power with the Petrograd Soviet and lasted about eight months, until the Bolsheviks took power.
