Mark I tank

The first tank to enter combat, a British rhomboid, tracked vehicle developed in 1915 from the experimental Little Willie. It first fought at Flers-Courcelette in September 1916. Male versions carried two 6-pounder guns; female versions carried only machine guns. Tank was originally a code name used for secrecy.
