A7V
The Sturmpanzerwagen A7V, a German heavy tank of about 30 tons with a crew of at least 17 soldiers and one officer. Of 100 chassis ordered, only 20 were built as armored tanks; they first went into action on 21 March 1918 and fought until October. They were the only German-built tanks used in combat in the war.
